SoundDesk Terms of Use
Last updated: · Operator: 프로젝트팀포유 (Projectteamforyou)
These terms apply to SoundDesk for Windows (the PC app), SoundDesk Remote for Android (the Android app) and the website sounddesk.win, published by Projectteamforyou (프로젝트팀포유), represented by Lee Yoosang (“we”). By installing or using them you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use them.
What SoundDesk is
The PC app is a Windows tray utility that adjusts the volume and mute state of programs, switches audio devices and routes programs to devices. The Android app is a remote control for a PC that runs the PC app; it does not change the sound of the phone itself. Both are provided free of charge.
Licence
We give you a personal, non-exclusive, worldwide licence to install and use the apps for as long as you comply with these terms. The software is provided under the MIT License, whose text accompanies it; components from other authors remain under their own licences. Names such as Windows, Android and Google Play belong to their owners.
Using the apps responsibly
SoundDesk changes audio settings on your computer. Set volumes sensibly: sudden loud sound can damage hearing and equipment. Do not rely on SoundDesk where a failure could cause harm.
Some features depend on how a particular version of Windows works, such as routing a single program to a chosen device. They may stop working after a Windows update.
The phone remote is your responsibility
A paired phone can change volume, mute state, output devices and profiles on your PC. You agree to:
- pair only phones that belong to you or whose owner has agreed, and only on a network you trust;
- keep the phone and the PC secure, and remove a phone in the PC app if it is lost, sold or no longer trusted;
- not use the remote, or any part of the apps, to reach a computer you are not entitled to control.
What you may not do
You may not use the apps or the website to break the law, to harm or disturb other people or their devices, to attack or probe our servers, or to remove or change the notices and signatures that identify the software as ours. Rights granted by the MIT License are not limited by this section.
Updates and changes to the service
The PC app checks for updates by default and asks before installing one; you can turn the check off. We may change, suspend or stop the apps, the website or any feature, and we will try to give notice of changes that affect you.
No warranty
To the extent the law allows, the apps and the website are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, including fitness for a particular purpose, uninterrupted operation, or that every Windows version or device will work.
Limits on our liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential loss, for lost data or profits, or for harm caused by unplugged, misconfigured or misused equipment. Our total liability for anything arising from the free apps is limited to the amount you paid for them, which is zero. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, and your mandatory consumer rights are not affected.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea. Disputes go to the courts that have jurisdiction under Korean law, without limiting any mandatory right you have to bring a claim where you live.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version. If you keep using the apps after a change takes effect, you accept the new terms; if you do not accept them, stop using the apps.
